Are these ACV gummies safe after color change?
Hey guys, so I've been taking these apple cider vinegar gummies for about a month now. I keep them in the pantry, cool & dark. Last week I noticed they got darker and kinda hard, some stuck together. Still smell fine. Are they safe to eat? I'm all about clean ingredients but don't want to waste. Also, are these even vegan? The label says gelatin but some brands use pectin. Any ideas?
Dude, same thing happened to my gummy stash! I think it's just sugar bloom from humidity. If they smell okay and no mold, I'd eat 'em. I've had hard gummies before and they were fine. Just chew harder lol. But yeah, check the exp date too.
VitalVince, color change and hardening can be from temp fluctuations or moisture. But if they're stuck together, could be melting then re-sticking. I'd be cautious though - if texture is off, maybe the ingredients degraded. For fitness, I rely on consistent dosing. Also, apple cider vinegar gummies often have added sugar - check if that bloomed. As for vegan, gelatin is not vegan. Look for pectin-based ones. I personally use a liquid ACV now, no texture issues.
Thanks guys! @MindfulMila115 yeah the ingredients say gelatin, so not vegan. I'll toss these and get a pectin brand. @AlphaAdam409 mine are still in date, but I'll trust my gut and not eat them. Better safe than sorry.
