Hey guys, first time posting here. I tried making my own apple cider vinegar gummies using gelatin, ACV powder, and a little honey. They came out super rubbery and taste like pure battery acid. I used 3 tbsp gelatin, 1/2 cup ACV powder, and 2 tbsp honey... did I mess up the ratios? Should I add some fruit juice or something?

lol battery acid! I've been there. Your gelatin ratio seems too high for the amount of liquid. Try 1 tbsp gelatin per cup of total liquid. Also, ACV powder is concentrated so you need way less. Maybe start with 1/4 cup and add some apple juice or water. And heat it gently, don't boil!

Fellow DIY gummy maker here. Agree with KaleKen. Also, are you using silicone molds? They help with release. I add a little coconut oil to the mix to keep them from being too hard. And if the taste is sour, a pinch of stevia or monk fruit can balance it. Let them set in the fridge for at least 4 hours.

Thanks both! I used a glass pan and cut them, that's probably why they were weird shapes. I'll try silicone molds next time. Also, should I use agar instead? I'm trying to keep it paleo-friendly.

Agar works but it's trickier. It sets at room temp, so you have to be quick. And it's not as chewy. For paleo, gelatin from grass-fed cows is fine. Just make sure it's not hydrolyzed (that won't gel). Good luck!
