Hey guys! So I tried making my own apple cider vinegar gummies using gelatin and a powdered vitamin mix. I followed a recipe online but they came out all sticky and weird shaped. Any tips on how to get them firmer? I used 2 tbsp gelatin to 1 cup liquid. Maybe too much moisture?

Oh I've been there! The key is to bloom the gelatin in cold water first and then heat it slowly. Also, if you're using ACV, make sure to dilute it with some water or juice, else the acid can break down the gelatin. Try reducing the liquid a bit and add a little more gelatin. I use 3 tbsp per cup for extra firmness.

Hey Pat! For a more natural option, you could try agar agar instead of gelatin. It sets firmer at room temp. But with ACV, you might need to cook it a bit longer to activate the agar. Also, adding a tiny bit of oil (like coconut) can help with the stickiness. Just a thought!

Stickiness is often because the mixture wasn't heated enough to fully dissolve the gelatin. I'd recommend heating your liquid to just below boiling, then whisk in the gelatin until fully dissolved. Also, pour into molds and refrigerate at least 4 hours. Oh, and don't forget to lightly oil the molds first!

Thanks everyone! I think I didn't heat it enough, and I used way too much liquid. I'll try with less liquid and bloom the gelatin next time. Might also try the agar agar idea, DewyDaphne. Appreciate all the help!
