My Kid Ate the Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies... and Now Wants More!
Okay, so I bought those Apple Cider Vinegar gummies to help with my digestion. My 6-year-old saw the bottle and thought they were candy. I caught him with a handful, and he was like "Yum, sour gummies!" I panicked but he only had two, and he's fine. But now he keeps asking for them as a treat! I have to hide them. Any advice on how to keep them away from the little monsters?
Ha! Classic. I have to keep my Paleo-approved collagen gummies in a lockbox, or my wife will eat them all. Maybe put them in a high cabinet or a jar that doesn't look like a candy container. Or just tell your kid they're 'medicine' - that usually kills the appeal.
As a retired nurse, I've seen kids get into worse things. Two gummies is not a big deal, but definitely keep them out of reach. The bottle might have a child-resistant cap, but kids are crafty. Maybe get a pill organizer or a container with a 'hot sauce' label - that would deter them! And check with your pediatrician if you're worried, but I'm sure he's fine.
Ha! That reminds me of when I was housesitting for my sister and her kid grabbed my CBD gummies. He thought they were regular gummy bears. I had to do a whole "this is special adult candy" speech. Maybe you can make a fun 'no-go' sign for the cabinet? Or just put them in a drawer with other supplements. Kids lose interest if it's not visible.
