Traveling with ACV Gummies - Will They Melt or Get Confiscated?

Hey everyone! I'm heading on a 2-week trip soon (plane, then a long road trip, and some hiking). I take ACV gummies every day and don't want to miss out. But I'm worried: will they melt in my suitcase? I've heard horror stories of gummies turning into a blob. Also, TSA rules - can I bring them in my carry-on? They're a solid, but I've seen so many conflicting things. And any tips for storing them during a hike in the heat? Would appreciate any advice!

Great question! So, from a physical chemistry perspective, gummies are essentially sugar and pectin. The melting point is typically around 90-100°F (32-38°C), so they can soften in hot environments, but they won't turn into a liquid unless it's really extreme. For travel, I'd suggest keeping them in a cool, insulated container. TSA-wise, they are a solid, so they're fine in carry-on - I've taken gummies many times. Just keep them in the original packaging or a labeled bag. For hiking, you can use a small insulated pouch or even wrap them in a wet cloth to keep them cool - evaporation helps! Just don't leave them in a hot car.

Cheap tip: Get one of those small insulated lunch bags or use a Thermos. Put the gummies in a ziplock inside with an ice pack if you can. But for hiking, you might not want the extra weight. Honestly, they might get a bit soft but they're still edible. Also, if you're worried about TSA, just keep them in the original bottle - the label shows it's a supplement, so no issues. I've flown with gummies multiple times, never been stopped.

I work nights and travel a lot. Here's what I do: get a small pill organizer or use the original bottle. If you're concerned about melting, you can put them in a small cooler with an ice pack for the flight, but they won't melt in the cabin anyway. For hiking, I put them in a small metal tin (like an Altoids tin) which keeps them from getting squished, and they don't melt as fast because it reflects heat a bit. Also, consider gummy alternatives like capsules for travel, but if you're committed, it's doable. Safe travels!

You're overthinking it, lol. I've taken ACV gummies on a trip to Mexico in summer, they survived fine in my backpack. They might get a bit sticky but that's it. Just don't put them in checked luggage where temps can fluctuate wildly. Carry-on is climate controlled. For hiking, just pop them in your pocket or backpack, they'll be fine. And TSA has bigger fish to fry - gummies are not a concern. Enjoy your trip!
