Are my ashwagandha gummies still safe to eat? Changed color & texture
Hey guys, I bought a bottle of ashwagandha gummies about 3 months ago. They were fine until last week when I noticed they've turned darker, almost brownish, and they've gotten really hard. Some are even sticking together. Expiry is still 6 months away. Are they safe to eat? Or should I toss them? I hate wasting money.
Ugh, that's annoying! It's probably just the pectin or gelatin breaking down from heat or humidity. If they smell fine and aren't moldy, they might still be safe, but the potency could be lower. I'd say check for any weird smells or spots. If in doubt, get a new bottle – your health is worth more than saving a few bucks. Also, store them in a cool dry place next time!
Yeah, what Sprout said. Happens to my protein bars too. The heat and moisture mess with the texture. As long as they don't taste funky or look moldy, they're probably okay to eat. Just eat them quickly before they turn into rocks lol.
Thanks guys. I'll inspect them more closely. I think I'll just buy new ones to be safe. Any brand recommendations that don't do this? These were from Nature's Way.
