Ashwagandha for sleep, but my skin is glowing?! Anyone else?

So I started taking ashwagandha gummies about a month ago, mainly to help with my sleep because I've been tossing and turning. I didn't really notice much difference in sleep, but yesterday my wife said my skin looks clearer and more radiant. I'm a chef, so I'm around heat and oil all day, and my skin is usually dull. Could the ashwagandha be causing this? Or is it just a coincidence? Has anyone else experienced this?

Interesting! There's actually some science behind this. Ashwagandha is an adaptogen, and it helps reduce cortisol (the stress hormone). High cortisol can break down collagen and lead to skin issues like acne and dullness. By lowering stress, your skin might be recovering. Also, ashwagandha has antioxidant properties that could help fight oxidative stress. So yeah, better skin is a plausible side effect! Give it a few more weeks and see if it's consistent.

SAME!! I started taking them for anxiety before my marathon training, but I noticed my skin got clearer too, and I wasn't as sore after runs. But now I'm a bit worried about the long-term effects - I heard ashwagandha can affect thyroid hormones. Have you looked into that? I'm not sure if I should continue.

Good point, Cathy. High doses over a long time might affect thyroid function, but most studies show it's safe at recommended doses (like 300-600mg of extract). Just follow the label. And if you have thyroid issues, check with your doc. I think occasional breaks are a good idea too.

Thanks for the input, Tina and Cathy! I'll check the dose on my gummies and mention it to my doctor next time. But glad to know I'm not imagining it - my wife was impressed with my glow, haha. Maybe I'll keep taking them and see if I sleep better too.
