Hey all, I've been taking these ashwagandha gummies for a month now, but I noticed the bottle I just opened has gummies that are darker in color and a bit harder than usual. They also look like they have a sugary coating on them. Are they still safe to eat? I don't want to waste them, but I also don't want to get sick.

Man, that's just sugar bloom or something. Happens to gummies all the time, especially if they get warm. They're probably fine, but texture might be off. I'd eat 'em, but I'm not a doctor. If they smell weird or taste bad, toss 'em.

I've had that happen with my gummies too. It's usually just crystallization of the sugar, not a sign of spoilage. But if the gummies are super hard, they might be past their prime. Check the expiry date and if they taste okay, they should be fine. I'd just store them in a cooler place next time.

Biochemically speaking, sugar bloom is a physical change, not a chemical one. The active ingredients in ashwagandha are stable and unlikely to degrade just from temperature changes. So they're likely safe. But if the gummies have changed texture, they might not dissolve as well, affecting absorption. Still, I'd eat them.

As a retired nurse, I've seen many people worry about this. The color change and hardening are just signs of moisture loss or sugar crystallization. Unless there's mold or a foul odor, they're safe. But if you're unsure, better to buy a fresh batch. Your health is not worth the risk of a few dollars.
