Hey everyone, so I tried making my own ashwagandha gummies at home last night and it was a total fail. Used gelatin, some organic ashwagandha powder I got online, and a bit of honey for sweetness. They never really set properly - just stayed this weird gooey texture. Anyone have a reliable recipe that actually works? Trying to keep it paleo-friendly without weird additives.

lol been there! I tried making these while working remotely in Bali last month - total disaster. The humidity here killed them. What temp did you heat your mixture to? I found that getting it to exactly 160°F before pouring into molds is key. Also, are you using enough gelatin? Ratio matters big time. Pro tip: add a pinch of citric acid if you want that sour gummy vibe.

First - love that you're DIYing instead of buying plastic-packaged supplements! 🌱 Have you considered agar instead of gelatin? It's plant-based and sets more reliably in my experience. Also, make sure your ashwagandha powder is super finely ground - clumps will ruin the texture. Did you bloom your gelatin properly in cold water first? That step is crucial!

Thanks both! @SolarSam260 I didn't use a thermometer, just eyeballed it... maybe that's the issue. @OrganicOlivia841 I haven't tried agar - does it work with the same measurements? And yeah, I did bloom the gelatin but maybe not long enough. The powder was kinda clumpy too. Going to try again this weekend with better prep!

Def get a cheap digital thermometer - game changer. And if you go agar route, it behaves differently than gelatin. Needs to boil for a minute to activate properly. Also, if your ashwagandha powder tastes bitter (mine does), mask it with stronger flavors like lemon or ginger. Let us know how round 2 goes!
