My kid thinks my ashwagandha gummies are candy!
So my 6yo saw my ashwagandha gummies and thought they were gummy bears. I had to hide them in my gym bag. Today he found them and ate like 3. He's now super chill and maybe a little sleepy. Not sure if I should laugh or worry. Any advice?
LOL, that's a classic. I'd definitely keep them out of reach - ashwagandha can interact with meds and too much can upset the stomach. At least they're not melatonin gummies! But seriously, child-proofing is key. Maybe get a locked container? Glad he's okay. My dog once ate a whole bottle of those - the vet just said to watch for drowsiness. Kids are basically small dogs sometimes 😂
Haha, that's a good one. I accidentally eat a few extra myself sometimes, they taste too good. But yeah, hide them well. Ashwagandha can lower blood pressure and blood sugar, so watch out for signs. If he seems fine, it's probably okay, but if he gets dizzy or too sleepy, call the pediatrician. Better safe than sorry. Also, my wife tried the texture thing - she says they're 'gummy' but she's used to chewy candy. Can't please everyone, lol.
Oh no! That reminds me of when my husband ate a bunch of my elderberry gummies thinking they were for immune support all at once.. he was fine but had to run to the bathroom soon after. Anyway, maybe you could try a different form like capsules? Also, check the ingredients - some brands use artificial sweeteners that might not be great for kids. Hope your little one is fine! Also, maybe read the bottle for any warnings. My gummies say 'keep out of reach of children' - guess they know!
