Traveling with Ashwagandha Gummies - Do They Melt?
Heading on a long flight and then a hiking trip next week. I want to bring my ashwagandha gummies for stress relief, but I'm worried they'll melt in my carry-on or get squished in my backpack. Any tips on how to keep them solid? Also, has anyone had issues with TSA over these?
TSA won't give you any trouble - they're just gummies, like candy. But melting is a real concern. I'd suggest keeping them in a cool part of your carry-on, maybe near the bottom where it's cooler. If you have room, put them in a small insulated bag with an ice pack that's frozen when you go through security. For hiking, keep them in a ziplock and maybe wrap in a damp cloth - the evaporation keeps them cool.
Actually, the melting point of gummies is around 90°F, so they can get soft but not totally liquid. I use a small hard case (like a pill organizer) to keep them from getting squished. And if they do get soft, just pop them in the fridge for a bit - they'll firm up. As for TSA, never had a problem, they're just like vitamins. I've flown with gummies all the time.
I'm a grandparent and I travel with gummies for my grandkids. I always put them in a labeled pill container, just to be safe. And I've found that the gummies don't melt as much if you keep them in a cooler with those gel packs. But if you're hiking, maybe try to put them in a belt pouch that's close to your body, but that might actually make them warmer. Better to keep them in your backpack and not in a pocket that's pressed against your back. Also, check if your hotel has a fridge to store them overnight.
