Hey everyone! I'm trying to make my own B12 gummies at home to save money, but my last batch turned into a sticky, goopy mess. I used beef gelatin and methylcobalamin powder. Could it be the gelatin type or maybe too much liquid? Any recipes or tips would be awesome!

Honestly, why not just buy them? DIY supplements can be risky for dosage accuracy. But if you must, try using less liquid or more gelatin. Agar might work better if you're vegan. Also, check if your B12 powder has fillers that mess with setting.

Hi! Retired nurse here. The gooey issue is often too much water or not enough setting time. For a firmer gummy, use 1 tablespoon gelatin per 1 cup liquid. Bloom the gelatin in cold water first, then heat gently. B12 is heat-sensitive, so add it after cooling a bit. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the tips! I'll try the 1 tbsp ratio and cooling technique. LemonLiam, good point about heat - I probably added B12 too early. IndigoIris, I get the concern, but I like controlling ingredients. Any favorite flavors to mask the B12 taste?

Mixing B12 with tart cherry or orange juice concentrate masks it well. But still not a fan of DIY meds. At least use a calibrated dropper for consistency. Good luck!
