B12 gummy + morning coffee? Any interactions?
Hey all, I've been taking a B12 gummy every morning for energy, but I also drink a cup of black coffee within the same hour. Is there any known interaction? Should I space them out? I don't want to mess with absorption.
Great question! Caffeine can slightly increase stomach acid, which might affect the breakdown of B12. However, B12 is water-soluble and generally well-absorbed regardless. The main concern is that caffeine can interfere with B12 absorption if you have a deficiency or are on medications like PPIs. But for most people, it's fine. I'd suggest taking them 30 minutes apart just to be safe, but no evidence of a major interaction.
I take my B12 gummy with my morning coffee every day, and I've noticed a boost in energy. I think it's a killer combo. From a biohacker perspective, caffeine increases circulation, which might even help delivery. But if you're worried, try sublingual B12 – those bypass the stomach anyway.
I'm new to all this, but I've read that B12 is better absorbed on an empty stomach. Coffee might stimulate digestion and push it through too fast? Not sure. I just take mine with water as part of my morning mindfulness routine. Better safe than sorry, right?
