Can I take my B12 gummies with my morning coffee? Safety check!

Hey everyone, quick question! I've been taking these vitamin B12 gummies every morning (the berry flavored ones from Nature's Way). I usually have them with my coffee right after breakfast. Is that okay? I've heard some supplements don't mix well with caffeine or certain foods. Anyone have experience with this combo? Thanks!

Good question! From a biochemical perspective, caffeine can potentially interfere with B12 absorption in the gut, though the effect might be minimal with gummies since they're already in a more bioavailable form. The acidity from coffee could also affect it slightly. For optimal absorption, I'd recommend taking your B12 gummy at least 30-60 minutes apart from your coffee. Also, check if your gummy contains cyanocobalamin or methylcobalamin - the latter might be less affected. Not dangerous, but might reduce effectiveness!

lol i've been giving my kids their B12 gummies with their breakfast forever, and we're all coffee drinkers (well, not the little ones!). Honestly, I think this is one of those things that gets overcomplicated. If you're taking them consistently and feeling fine, you're probably getting enough B12. My grandma took hers with tea for years and her levels were always perfect. Just listen to your body - if you're feeling tired or off, maybe space them out, but otherwise don't stress too much!

As a vegan, B12 is crucial since we don't get it from animal products! I take my methylcobalamin gummies separately from everything else - first thing in the morning on an empty stomach with water. Coffee can wait 45 min. Why risk compromising absorption when B12 deficiency is no joke? Fatigue, nerve issues... not worth it. Also, make sure your gummies are truly vegan - some use gelatin or non-vegan D3. Stay vigilant, friends!
