Hey everyone, I've been trying to make my own B12 gummies at home to save money and control ingredients. I've tried both gelatin and agar-agar bases with B12 powder mixed in, but they keep coming out either too rubbery or they don't set properly. Last batch was a total mush-fest! Anyone have a reliable recipe or know what I'm doing wrong? I'm using 1000mcg B12 powder per batch.

First thing - are you using SUGAR? Because that's probably your problem right there! Sugar-free is the way to go for real health benefits. I use monk fruit sweetener with agar (vegan friendly!) and my B12 gummies come out perfect every time. Also, make sure your B12 powder is methylcobalamin, not cyanocobalamin - better absorption. Pro tip: add a pinch of citric acid to help with setting and give that tangy taste without the sugar crash!

FloraFinn, with all due respect, you can't beat traditional gelatin and a bit of real honey. That's how my grandma made her supplements back in the day. OP - your problem might be temperature. Gelatin needs to be bloomed properly in cool water first, then gently heated. Don't boil it! And mix your B12 powder with a tiny bit of water before adding to avoid clumps. I use 2 tbsp gelatin, 1/3 cup juice, 1 tbsp honey, and my B12. Sets every time in silicone molds.

Namaste friends! As a yoga instructor, I'm all about mindful supplementation. Have you considered your intention while making them? Energy matters! But practically speaking - I've found agar works better for B12 since it doesn't require heating as much (preserves the vitamin better). Also, are you using any other powders? Sometimes interactions can affect texture. I add a bit of turmeric for inflammation support and they set fine. Maybe try smaller batches first to dial in your ratios? Peace and good vibes for your next attempt!

Thanks everyone! This is super helpful. I was using gelatin with stevia (trying to cut sugar) and probably overheated it. Pete - I'll try your honey method with proper blooming. Flora - I'll check my B12 type, good call. Huberman - I like the turmeric idea for extra benefits! Gonna attempt batch #4 this weekend with all your tips. Will report back!
