Is this B12 study legit? Lookin' for opinions
Hey everyone, stumbled on this study (PMID: 34567890) about methylcobalamin vs cyanocobalamin absorption. Claims methyl is way better, but the sample size is tiny (n=30). Seems biased? What do you guys think? I take chewable cyanocobalamin now. Link: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34567890/
Classic marketing hype. Cyanocobalamin is stable, cheap, and works fine for most people. Methyl is unstable and overpriced. That study is probably funded by a methyl supp company. I'd stick with cyanocobalamin.
Hmm, I've been making my own B12 gummies with methylcobalamin powder from bulk. They seem to work better for my energy levels, but maybe it's placebo? The study is interesting but small. I'd want to see more research.
Methylcobalamin is the natural form our bodies use. Cyanocobalamin has a cyanide molecule (though tiny amounts). I always go methyl, especially for sublingual or gummies. The study might be legit, but yeah, small sample. Trust your gut and your body's response.
