MeatOut Day in Maryland? What about our B12?
Just saw this and couldn't help but think about how it ties in with our B12 discussions. As a yoga instructor, I'm all for plant-based eating sometimes, but I worry about people getting enough B12 if they cut out meat completely. What do you all think?
Ugh, my kids would go nuts if we tried to go vegan for a day! But honestly, we take gummy vitamins, so maybe it's fine? But is it a real thing to have a 'MeatOut' day? Sounds like a political stunt.
I mean, I'm all for trying plant-based meals now and then, but if you're active like me, you need that complete protein and B12! I'll skip the label and just eat what makes my body feel good. But hey, if it gets people thinking, cool.
Interesting. I've heard that some plant-based milks are fortified with B12, but it's not as bioavailable. Plus, our bodies store B12 for years, but if you go full vegan long-term, you definitely need supplements. So maybe this day is a reminder to check your vitamin levels.
