My kid thinks B12 gummies are candy - send help (and a lockbox)!
Okay, so I bought these raspberry B12 gummies for my 6-year-old because she's a picky eater and needs the boost. Big mistake. She found the bottle and now thinks they're candy. I caught her trying to sneak a handful this morning. I had to hide them on top of the fridge, but she's like a little ninja. Any tips on how to make her understand they're vitamins, not treats? Or should I just embrace the chaos and start locking my pantry?
Haha, I can totally relate! My daughter did the same when she was little. I started calling them 'gummy powers' and made a game out of taking them - like she was a superhero getting her powers. Also, I made a rule: only after brushing teeth, so it's part of the routine. And I put them in a separate opaque container so she couldn't see the colorful bottle. Might work for you? Good luck, fellow sleep-deprived parent!
Ugh, that's a classic. But also, remember to keep all supplements out of reach of kids, even if they're yummy. Maybe get a child-resistant container or a safe. I know it's a pain, but better safe than sorry. You could also try the liquid drops that don't taste as sweet? My kids actually preferred those because they could mix them in smoothies. Just a thought. Hope you find a solution!
Thanks for the replies! SolarSam29, I love the 'gummy powers' idea - I might try that! SolarSam289, you're right, I should get a proper container. I found them under her pillow yesterday - I don't know how she got them! But seriously, I'll be more careful. Thanks for the tips, and for the giggles. It could be worse, at least she's not refusing them like some kids do with the texture. But I guess that's a different kind of problem, eh?
