Hey all, need to share this before I have a heart attack. My 4-year-old found my B12 gummies in my home office (I take them for energy during long work days). Thought they were 'daddy's special candy' and ate like 5 before I caught him. Called poison control - they said he'll be fine but might have neon pee. Kid's now bouncing off the walls asking for more 'rainbow bears.' Anyone else have supplement security issues? #workingparentproblems

Oh my goodness, Adam! That's exactly why I keep all vitamins in childproof containers on the highest shelf. Modern gummies look too much like candy - back in my day, vitamins were pills or nasty syrups kids wanted to avoid! My grandson refuses his gummy vitamins because he says they're 'slimy.' Can't win either way! Have you tried explaining they're medicine, not candy?

LOL my husband does the same thing! He'll sneak my B12 gummies thinking they're my homemade fruit snacks. I started making actual gummy bears with beet juice (for color) and hiding the vitamins in a boring white bottle. As for texture issues - try different brands? Some are chewier than others. I could probably bake them into something if you're desperate...

QuartzQuinn - yeah I've moved them to a locked drawer now. Kid's too smart for childproof caps apparently. Tina - might take you up on that baking idea if this continues. He's currently telling his stuffed animals about 'special candy that makes you zoom.' At least he's getting his B12 I guess?

Perhaps try a reward chart? One gummy after eating proper vegetables? That's what worked with my children. And always supervise! These newfangled supplements worry me - they should look medicinal, not like something from a candy store.
