Traveling with B12 gummies - do they survive a hot car or TSA?
Hey all! I'm heading on a 10-hour road trip next week and then flying to my destination. I never travel with my B12 gummies, but I don't want to miss doses. Do they melt in a hot car? And can I bring them in my carry-on? I read somewhere you can't bring gummies because they look like... something? Any tips?
I've taken gummy vitamins on planes before. In my carry-on, no problem. TSA doesn't care as long as they're in original packaging or you have a prescription? But honestly, they're not liquid, so they're fine. As for melting, leave them in the cabin, not in your checked luggage if it's super hot. I had some in my suitcase once and they turned into a blob. Stick to carry-on and you're good.
Totally agree with Dan. I use a small insulated pouch for my gummies when traveling. Keeps them from melting in the car. I also put them in a pocket of my backpack that's not exposed to direct sun. And TSA-wise, I've never had an issue. Just keep them in the original bottle so they don't think they're candy or something. Safe travels! ✈️
Eco tip: if you're worried about melting, you could freeze them at home before you leave. Freeze-dried might be a thing, but just freezing the regular gummies works for a while. But honestly, they'll re-melt quickly. Better to just keep them insulated. Also, check the climate – if you're hiking in high heat, maybe carry a little cooler. And remember to recycle those bottles!
Minimalist here. I just don't bring the whole bottle. I count out the exact number I need for the trip and put them in a small, refillable travel container. But careful – if it's not the original and TSA asks, they might question it. But usually fine. I've done this for years. As for melting, I've never had an issue as long as I don't leave them in a hot car for hours. Just use common sense.
