Hey everyone, tried making my own beauty gummies at home last night and it was a total fail. Used gelatin, some vitamin C powder, and biotin mix I had. They never set properly - just stayed as sticky goo in the molds. Anyone have a foolproof recipe or know what I did wrong? Trying to save money instead of buying those expensive store brands.

Honestly, this is why I just buy the pre-made ones. You never know if you're getting the right dosage with homemade stuff, and who knows what's actually in those vitamin powders? My kids take gummy vitamins and I wouldn't risk making them myself. Too much can go wrong - like your goo situation. Maybe just stick to trusted brands?

I've had success with agar agar instead of gelatin! It's plant-based and sets differently. Also, make sure you're using food-grade vitamin powders - some supplements have fillers that mess with the gelling process. I add a bit of local honey and organic fruit juice to mine. What sweetener did you use? That can affect setting too.

If you're going to DIY, you gotta watch the sugar content. Most gummy recipes are loaded with it - total keto nightmare. I make mine with erythritol and gelatin, but you need to get the liquid ratios perfect. Too much liquid vitamin mix will prevent setting. Also, are you heating the gelatin properly? Needs to dissolve completely but not boil.

Interesting timing! I was just meditating on intention-setting and thought about making mindfulness gummies with calming herbs. Haven't tried yet though. OP, maybe your energy while making them was off? Like, if you were stressed about it, that could transfer to the batch. Just a thought! But practically, maybe try smaller test batches first?
