Hey everyone, I tried making my own beauty gummies at home using gelatin and some vitamin C/biotin powders, but they turned out a total mess - either too rubbery or they melted into goo. Anyone have a foolproof recipe or tips? I'm using agar as a vegan option too but no luck. What am I doing wrong??

OMG I feel you! I've been making keto gummies for ages. The key is the gelatin ratio - too much and it's like chewing tires, too little and it's soup. For beauty ones, I add collagen powder instead of regular gelatin, and MCT oil for shine. Also, make sure your vitamin powders are heat-stable or add them AFTER heating the mix. Did you use any sweetener? Sugar alcohols can mess with texture too.

Bro, gym rat here - I make protein gummies all the time. You gotta bloom the gelatin first in cold water for 5-10 mins, then low heat to dissolve. Never boil it! And agar sets faster, so work quick. For beauty stuff, I'd throw in some zinc or vitamin D powder for skin health. What's your exact recipe? Might be the liquid ratio off.

Namaste! As a yoga instructor, I love homemade wellness treats. For beauty gummies, I use agar with citrus juice (vitamin C!) and a dash of turmeric for glow. Agar needs to boil briefly to activate, unlike gelatin. Also, mindfulness while stirring helps - rushed energy can affect the batch! Maybe try small molds and refrigerate longer. Are you using natural colors? Artificial ones sometimes react.

Thanks all! @CrystalCathy729 I used stevia, maybe that's it? @EarthElias975 I did bloom the gelatin, but maybe my heat was too high. @CitrusClaire I'll try the boiling tip for agar. Gonna experiment with collagen and citrus juice next batch. Any favorite mold types? Silicon ones keep sticking for me...
