Is this biotin study legit or just hype?
Hey everyone, came across this study (PMID: 12345678) that claims biotin in gummies can improve hair growth by 30% in 8 weeks. As a retired nurse, I'm skeptical – biotin deficiency is rare, and most studies show little effect. What do you all think? Legit or biased?
OMG I've been taking biotin gummies for months and my hair has never been longer! I don't care about the study, my nails are like rocks too. Maybe it's the placebo effect, but I'm not complaining 😂
I'm with you on the skepticism, XenonX206. I've read that biotin supplements only help if you have a deficiency. The gummy industry loves to market 'beauty' but the evidence is shaky. That study might be funded by a supplement company. Check their funding.
I did a deep dive on this once. The study you mentioned had a small sample size and no control group. Also, they used a proprietary blend that includes other stuff, so you can't isolate biotin. I'd wait for more solid research.
