My beauty gummies changed color and texture – still safe?

Hey everyone! I bought a bottle of strawberry beauty gummies about 2 months ago. They were soft and bright pink. Now they're dark red, hard as rocks, and some are stuck together. No mold smell. Are they still okay to eat? I'd hate to waste them.

Oh honey, I wouldn't risk it. Gummies change texture when they lose moisture or the ingredients degrade. If they're hard and the color changed, it could mean the vitamins are breaking down. Better safe than sorry, toss 'em!

Actually, color change and hardening are common in gelatin-based gummies over time due to moisture loss and sugar crystallization. The active ingredients (like biotin or collagen) might still be stable, but the texture change suggests they're past their prime. I'd check the expiration date and look for any mold. If no mold, they're likely safe but less effective. Personally, I'd just buy a new bottle.

I've had that happen with my collagen gummies. I ate them anyway and was fine, but they were hard to chew. If you do eat them, maybe soak them in water for a bit? But yeah, Crystal's right – if you're worried, don't risk it.

Thanks everyone! The expiration date is still good for 3 months. No mold. I'll try Quantum's advice and toss them – not worth the worry. Off to get a fresh bottle!
