New study on collagen gummies - legit or hype?
Hey guys, just saw this study (PMID: 34567890) on collagen peptides in gummies. Claims 6 months of use improves skin elasticity and reduces wrinkles. Sounds too good to be true? Any thoughts?
Honestly, I'm skeptical. Most of these studies are funded by the supplement companies. Plus, collagen gummies are full of sugar, which is worse for your skin than the benefits. Stick to a keto diet and get collagen from bone broth, way more natural.
I agree with Vince on the sugar part. I only use sugar-free gummies, and even then, I'm not convinced the collagen survives digestion. I've read that you need to take it with vitamin C for absorption. Did the study mention that? Also, check the funding source.
Good point on vitamin C, Ivy. The study did control for that, but I'm still on the fence. Maybe I'll try a small batch and see if it makes a difference for my skin. Thanks for the input!
