THREAD: Beauty Gummies - Are They Just Tasty Candy or Actually Work?Started by DynamicDan31

Hey everyone! I'm a total foodie who loves trying new snacks, and I recently picked up some beauty gummies at the health store. They're supposed to help with skin and hair, but honestly, I'm mostly here for the taste. Has anyone else tried these? The ones I got are berry-flavored and honestly pretty delicious - way better than those chalky vitamins. But do they actually do anything, or am I just eating expensive candy?

As a parent who's always checking labels, I'm skeptical about these. My kids saw them at the store and wanted them because they look like candy. I read the ingredients - lots of sugar, artificial colors, and vague 'proprietary blends.' I'd rather give my family real fruits and vegetables for vitamins. Has anyone found brands that are actually clean and effective? Or is this just another marketing gimmick targeting people who want quick fixes?

I'm with DynamicDan31 on the taste front - I tried the citrus ones and they're addictive! But I've been taking them for about 3 weeks now, and I think I'm noticing some differences. My skin feels less dry, especially with this winter weather. I'm curious if others have had real results or if it's placebo effect. Also, does timing matter? Should I take them with food or on an empty stomach?

As someone with a crazy work schedule, I appreciate the convenience. Swallowing pills with my morning coffee always made me nauseous, but these gummies are easy to remember and actually enjoyable. I've been using the collagen ones for a month, and while I can't say my wrinkles disappeared, my nails do seem stronger. For busy people like me, they're worth it just for the consistency factor. Any recommendations for brands that don't melt in summer heat?

JoyfulJack37 - Totally feel you on the convenience! I keep mine on my desk and munch them like a snack. IvyIron36, I get your concern about sugar - the brand I use has a stevia option that tastes decent. HubermanHopeful, I take mine after breakfast and they seem fine. Has anyone compared different types? I see hair growth, skin glow, nail strength... are they all basically the same formula with different marketing?

Thanks for the stevia tip, DynamicDan31. I might look into that for myself (though still not for the kids). To answer your question - I researched this last night, and many do have similar bases (vitamins C, E, biotin) with slight variations. The hair ones often add more biotin, skin ones might have extra collagen. But the dosages are usually too low to match what studies show is effective. Maybe they work as supplements to a good diet, but not replacements. Anyone have blood test results showing actual vitamin level improvements?
