Are biotin gummies just candy with a health halo?

I've been seeing these biotin gummies everywhere, and I'm a bit concerned. I read the label on one brand and it had 2g of sugar per gummy! That's like eating candy. You might as well eat a handful of jelly beans and take a biotin pill. I get that they're convenient, but aren't we just fooling ourselves into thinking we're being healthy? I'd rather take a boring pill and avoid the sugar crash.

As a retired nurse, I've seen a lot of trends. Gummies can be a good option for people who have trouble swallowing pills or don't like the taste of traditional supplements. However, you're right to check the sugar content. Many brands use sugar to mask the bitter taste of some vitamins. My advice is to look for sugar-free options or those sweetened with natural alternatives like stevia or monk fruit. They exist! It's all about making an informed choice.

I'm a busy guy, always on the go, so gummies are a lifesaver for me. I don't have time to measure out powders or deal with horse pills. But I also don't want to eat a ton of sugar, so I did some research. The brand I use has only 1g of sugar per gummy and it's from fruit juice concentrates, not refined sugar. Plus, biotin is actually good for my hair and nails, and I've seen results. It's a trade-off for convenience, but I think it's worth it.

I see your point Flora, but even natural sugar is still sugar. And for people with conditions like diabetes or insulin resistance, those sugars add up. Plus, the gummy texture and the sweet taste might make you want to eat more than the recommended dose, and then you're getting too much biotin, which could cause side effects. I just think it's a slippery slope to treating vitamins like treats.

Haha, that's a fair point. I do have to stop myself from eating the whole bottle sometimes! But honestly, I think the convenience and the fact that I actually remember to take them (because they taste good) outweigh the downsides. I've never been consistent with pills, so these are a win in my book. Each to their own, I guess.
