Is this biotin study legit or funded by Big Supplement?
Just came across this study (PMID: 34567890) claiming high-dose biotin gummies improve hair growth in 8 weeks. But it was sponsored by a supplement company. Thoughts? Is it biased or worth trying?
Ooh I saw that too! Tbh, most supplement studies are funded by brands, but that doesn't always mean fake. Check if it's peer-reviewed and the sample size. My derm said biotin only works if you're deficient though.
I took biotin gummies for 3 months and didn't notice a difference in hair, but my nails got stronger. Placebo? Maybe. But I'd say go for it if you want, just don't expect miracles.
As a fitness pro, I always look at the conflict of interest statement. If the company funded it and the authors are employees, it's basically an ad. Look for independent replications. Also, biotin overdose can mess up lab tests, so be careful.
