THREAD: Biotin Gummies: Do They Actually Work for Hair and Nails?Started by PurePete29

Hey all, busy professional here trying to multitask my health. I've been seeing ads for biotin gummies everywhere and wondering if they're worth adding to my routine. I don't have time for elaborate supplements - need something I can grab with my morning coffee. Has anyone noticed real results with these? Specifically for thinning hair - mine's been suffering from stress lately.

PurePete29, as a biohacker I've tested multiple biotin formulations. The gummies often have lower bioavailability than capsules due to sugar content and fillers. Check the dosage - most gummies have 5,000-10,000mcg which is decent, but absorption varies. I've found combining biotin with zinc and silica gives better results for hair thickness. Anyone else stacking supplements with their biotin?

Okay but can we talk about TASTE? I've tried three different brands and the Nature's Bounty ones actually taste like candy - cherry flavor is legit. The CVS brand? Chalky disaster. I'll take slightly lower efficacy for something I actually enjoy taking daily. Anyone found gummies that don't taste like vitamins?

Fitness pro perspective: Biotin alone won't magically transform hair/nails if your diet and training recovery aren't dialed in. That said, I recommend gummies to clients who struggle with pill fatigue. Saw noticeable nail strength improvement in 6-8 weeks with consistent use. Pro tip: Take with a fat source (like nuts) for better absorption. Steve43 is right about stacking though.

Granola parent here - I'm skeptical about all the artificial colors and sugars in most gummies. Found an organic brand sweetened with tapioca syrup that my teen will actually take (miracle!). But honestly, we get better results from whole foods like eggs and almonds. Are we just paying for convenience? Would love to hear from other parents navigating this.
