Are gummy vitamins just candy in disguise? Sugar content rant!

Ugh, just looked at the label on my kid's gummy vitamins and there's 3g of sugar per serving! That's insane for something that's supposed to be healthy. Why are we turning supplements into candy? Back in my keto days, I'd never touch this stuff - pure capsules or powders only. Anyone else think this 'candy-fication' is getting out of hand?

I get where you're coming from Liam, but as a marathon runner convenience matters! After long runs, swallowing capsules can be tough when you're dehydrated. Gummies are easier and I actually remember to take them. Sure, they have some sugar, but it's minimal compared to my energy gels. Maybe check brands with lower sugar options?

Namaste friends! As a yoga instructor, I believe in purity of what we put in our bodies. The additives in gummies don't align with mindful consumption. I switched to capsule supplements years ago - no artificial colors, no sugar alcohols. The body processes them more efficiently too. Have you considered that the candy-like appeal might undermine the intention behind supplementation?

Yara - minimal sugar adds up though! And Jack totally gets it. It's about intention like you said. These companies are marketing to kids (and adults) with bright colors and sweet tastes. My concern is people thinking they're getting nutrition when they're basically eating candy with vitamins sprinkled in. Where do we draw the line?

Fair points both! Maybe there's middle ground? I use gummies for vitamins I take daily (like D3) but capsules for things like iron that need precise dosing. Different tools for different needs? Though Liam you're right about marketing - my niece calls them 'treats' which does feel wrong lol.
