Are we eating candy or taking vitamins?
Okay, I gotta vent. I've been on the paleo diet for 3 years now, and I'm all about clean eating. But these gummy vitamins are getting out of hand. I just checked the label on my kids' gummies - 5g of sugar per serving! That's basically a small candy. I get that they're convenient, but we're supposed to be supplementing our diet, not adding more junk. Anyone else feel like we're turning into candy addicts?
Oh, I hear you, Steve. I'm a traditionalist myself. I remember when vitamins came in those little orange bottles, and you just swallowed a pill. Now it's all about taste and fun. And the prices! For a bottle of gummies, you could buy a steak. I stick to my capsules. They're plain, no sugar, and I know exactly what I'm getting. But hey, to each their own I guess. My grandkids love the gummies, so I can't be too harsh.
I see both sides, but I think we're missing the bigger picture. Gummy vitamins are a stepping stone for people who struggle with pills. My wife used to dread swallowing capsules, and now she actually looks forward to her gummy. As for sugar, it's all about balance. If you're eating clean, a little sugar from a vitamin won't kill you. But I do recommend finding brands that use natural sweeteners like fruit juices or stevia. And hey, there are sugar-free options now too! It's not all bad.
Fair point, Sam. I just wish they'd make gummies without the sugar coating. It's like they're trying to make them taste like actual candy. I've seen 'sour' gummy vitamins - seriously? Who needs sour vitamins? I'll stick to my fish oil pills and my multivitamin tabs. Just feels more... honest?
