Help! My homemade vitamin gummies turned into a sticky mess - recipe tips?

Hey everyone, first time trying to make my own gummy vitamins at home. I used gelatin and some vitamin C powder I had, but they came out super sticky and wouldn't set properly. They're like weird vitamin jello blobs that stick to everything. Anyone have a good recipe or know what I did wrong? I want to avoid all the extra sugar in store-bought ones for my kids.

OP, you're on the right track avoiding commercial gummies - they're loaded with maltitol and other sneaky carbs! For keto-friendly gummies, ditch the regular gelatin and use grass-fed bovine gelatin. Key tip: Bloom your gelatin in cold water first (1:3 ratio), then gently heat with MCT oil and your vitamin powders. Add a pinch of citric acid for tartness instead of sugar. If they're sticky, you might have used too much liquid or not enough gelatin. My go-to ratio is 3 tbsp gelatin per cup of liquid. Also, are you using silicone molds? Game-changer!

Oh dear, been there! My first batch looked like alien goo 😂 For my little ones, I use agar agar instead of gelatin - it's plant-based and sets firmer. Pro tip: Mix your vitamin powder with a tiny bit of honey or maple syrup first (just a teaspoon!) to prevent clumping, then whisk into your heated agar mixture. The stickiness might be from humidity too - try dusting them with arrowroot powder after they set. What vitamins are you using? Some powders react differently. P.S. My kids love when I add a splash of organic beet juice for pink gummies!

Namaste, friends! Beautiful intention to create mindful nourishment 🙏 I've found that intention matters as much as ingredients! When my gummies didn't set, I realized I was rushing the process. Try warming your mixture slowly over low heat - don't let it boil! For yoga-friendly energy, I add ashwagandha and magnesium powders. Are you letting them cool at room temperature first before refrigerating? That 30-minute rest makes all the difference. Also, what's your mold situation? Silicone with intention shapes (lotus flowers are my fave) helps the energy flow!

Wow thanks everyone! @KetoKevin414 I wasn't blooming the gelatin - just mixing it in hot liquid. @YogaYara I was using gelatin but might try agar for my vegetarian teen. @JoyfulJack33 I definitely boiled it 😅 And just using an ice cube tray lol. Going to try again with these tips - less liquid, bloom first, low heat, and maybe invest in some proper molds. Should I add anything to prevent them from melting at room temp? My kids want to take them in lunch boxes.
