Kardashians pushing creatine? What do you all think?
Just saw this article about Kris and Kourtney launching a creatine supplement called Lemme. Apparently it's for New Year's resolutions and fitness. But isn't creatine usually for bodybuilders? I fast intermittently and I'm curious if anyone here has tried creatine with intermittent fasting? Does it break a fast? I'm skeptical of celeb-backed stuff but Kourtney's been into wellness for a while.
Creatine is actually one of the most researched supplements out there. It helps with muscle recovery and energy, not just for bros lifting heavy. I've been using monohydrate for years, but this Lemme looks overpriced as hell. If you make your own gummies at home, it's way cheaper. Plus, you can control what goes in. I'd say pass and DIY.
I'm a total newbie when it comes to supplements, but I saw the article too. I thought creatine was just for gym rats, but maybe it could help with my meditation retreats? I get tired sitting for long periods lol. Also, do these gummies have sugar? That might spike insulin and break a fast, UrbanUma. I'd check the label.
As a holistic healer, I'm wary of celebrity endorsements. They often oversimplify. Creatine can be beneficial for energy production at the cellular level, but it's not a magic pill. The best approach is whole foods and mindful movement. I'd suggest looking into natural sources of creatine like red meat or fish. And yes, Quartz, these gummies probably have added sugar or artificial sweeteners—not ideal for fasting or meditation.
Great points, everyone. I think I'll stick to my fast and maybe try some beet juice for energy instead. Thanks for saving me from the hype!
