My Kid Thinks My Gummies Are Candy! (And My Husband Too...)
Okay, so I bought a bottle of those gummy vitamins for myself, right? I keep them in the kitchen cabinet, thinking my 6-year-old wouldn't find them. Today, I catch him with a handful, saying 'Mommy, these are yummy candies!' He ate like 5! I called poison control, they said he'd be fine, just might have a tummyache. But now I need to hide them better. Any tips? And my husband also tried one and said 'These are pretty good!' - I can't with him! 😂
Ha! You're not alone. As a retired nurse, I've seen it all. Those gummies look way too much like candy. My advice: store them in a high cabinet, maybe in a locked box if needed. And when you take them, do it when the kids aren't watching. Also, remind your hubby that they're supplements, not snacks. 😄
Same thing happened with my 4-year-old! He loves the texture. I had to start putting them in my nightstand drawer, and now I take them in the bathroom. But my husband... he's worse than the kids. He'll eat a few a day 'just to see' if they work. 🙄 Anyway, glad it wasn't a big deal. Just watch for tummy aches.
Yep, my kids think they're candy too. I bought a lockable container from Amazon. It's not a big deal, but better safe than sorry. As for the taste, maybe your husband likes them because they're sweet? Haha. My husband refuses to take them because he says they feel weird on his teeth. Can't win.
I don't take gummies myself (paleo strict), but my wife has them. The kids know they are 'mommy's vitamins' and not to touch. But it's tough when they see the bottle every day. Maybe keep them in a different spot, like in a drawer or on a high shelf. And if your husband likes them, maybe he's the kid you need to watch! 😆
