Ok so I just bought a bottle of these collagen gummies thinking they'd be a nice treat and help my skin. But I looked at the label and there's like 5g of sugar per serving! That's basically candy. Why do we need all this sugar? I'm trying to be healthy not eat dessert. Anyone else annoyed by this trend?

I get it, but its about convenience. Not everyone can swallow pills or powders. Gummies are easier for people with texture issues. And some brands use natural sweeteners like stevia. You just have to read labels carefully. I've found a few that are low sugar.

Honestly, all these gummy supplements are a no go for me. They're basically sugar bombs. I'm keto and even the 'sugar free' ones have maltitol which spikes blood sugar. If you want collagen just buy the unflavored powder and mix it in your coffee. No junk.

Yeah I guess I should of read the label first. But it's frustrating that the healthy option is always the less tasty one. I just want my skin to glow without the sugar crash lol.

Lol true. But honestly, as a research librarian I've read that a little sugar helps absorption? Some studies show that glucose can enhance collagen uptake. So if you're only having 2 gummies a day, 5g isn't gonna kill you. Everything in moderation.
