Hey guys! I'm heading out on a 2-week road trip through the desert and mountains. I always take my collagen gummies, but I'm worried they'll melt in the car or when I'm hiking. Does anyone have experience with this? Also, any tips for keeping them solid?

I feel you! I did a meditation retreat in the woods last summer and my gummies turned into a blob. Not fun. What I do now is keep them in a small cooler with an ice pack if I'm driving. For hiking, I put them in a tiny container and wrap it in a damp cloth - evaporation keeps them cool. Also, check if your gummies have a high melting point. Some brands are more stable.

If you're eco-conscious, avoid plastic containers. Use a stainless steel or glass jar. And don't forget to keep them out of direct sunlight - UV can degrade the collagen. I've used a Beeswax wrap, works great. Also, TSA? If you're flying, they're a gel, so they need to be under 3.4oz. But for road trips, just keep them in the shade.

I'm not a gummy guy, but I know heat. Collagen is a protein, so too much heat can denature it, making it less effective. If you're in a hot car, your glovebox is a death trap. I'd say use a thermos with some ice or a small insulated pouch. And if they do melt, you can always refrigerate them to re-solidify - just don't expect the same texture. Safe travels!
