Collagen Gummies turned hard and sugary - safe to eat?
Hey everyone! I bought a new jar of collagen gummies a month ago and they've changed a lot. They're all hard and have a white crust on them (sugar bloom I think?). Some are even stuck together in a clump. I stored them in the pantry, not fridge. Are they still safe to eat or should I toss them?
Girl, same thing happened to me with a different brand! I read that it's just sugar recrystallizing - it's cosmetic, not safety. Usually they're still fine to eat, but they might taste a bit off. I'd say give one a try, if it tastes weird then toss. But I'm not a doctor lol 🤷
Ugh, that sounds like you got a bad batch or they were stored in heat. I've had gummies turn into a rock before - I wouldn't risk it. Collagen gummies are expensive but food poisoning is worse. Check the expiration and if it's still good, maybe contact the company for a refund? 🤔
I've had this happen with homemade fruit gummies when I didn't store them right. The white stuff is just sugar - it's still safe. They might be a bit chewy/hard but you can soften them by putting the jar in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes. Don't microwave! 😋
