Hey guys, I bought a new jar of collagen gummies about a month ago. They were fine at first, but now they've gotten really hard and there's this white coating on them. They also stick together in clumps. Are they still safe to eat or should I toss them? I hate wasting money, but I don't want to get sick. Any advice?

Oh no, that happened to me once! I think it's just sugar bloom from temp changes or moisture. They should be safe, but the texture sucks. Some people say you can soften them by putting the jar in warm water for a bit. I usually just eat them as is, but they're like rocks lol. If they smell off or taste weird, toss 'em.

I've been taking collagen gummies for years and that's pretty common. It's just the sugar crystallizing or the gelatin getting old. Still safe, but check the expiry date. If they're not expired, you're good. I store mine in the fridge now to prevent that. Might also be a bad batch though – contact the company?

Yep, it's sugar bloom. Happens when the gummies are exposed to moisture or temp fluctuations. They're safe to eat, but the bioavailability might be degrading if they're that old. For optimal collagen absorption, I'd recommend getting a fresh batch. Also, try keeping them in a cool, dark place – not the fridge if you live in a humid area. Fridge can cause condensation.
