So my 6-year-old found my collagen gummies and ate half the bottle. I'm freaking out but also laughing. Anyone else's kids mistake these for candy? Also, are they safe in large amounts?

Oh no! That's scary but kinda funny. I always keep my gummies in a high cabinet because of that. Mine are sugar-free so they'd probably spit them out, lol. But check the label for xylitol – that's toxic to dogs and kids in large amounts.

Happened to me with my husband! He thought they were fruit snacks. Now I hide them in a protein powder container. 😂 As for safety, collagen is generally safe but too much can cause digestive issues. Call poison control if you're worried.

Actually, excess glycine from collagen can cause drowsiness and loose stools. But for a one-time thing, your kid will probably just have a tummy ache. My advice: get a lockable container. Also, maybe switch to unflavored collagen powder if the gummies are too tempting.

Thanks everyone! Poison control said he'll be fine, just might have some gas. Definitely investing in a lockbox. And maybe I'll try the powder, Noah – though my kid is weirded out by the texture of gummies anyway, go figure! 😅
