Creatine Gummies as gifts: My dad and my bestie
Hey everyone! I'm looking to buy some gummy vitamins as gifts. One for my dad (65, active but slowing down) and one for my best friend (30, gym rat). I keep seeing creatine gummies pop up. Are they any good? Should I get creatine gummies or something else? Budget is like $30-40 each. Thanks!
Hi there! Retired nurse here. For your dad, I'd be cautious with creatine. It's mostly for muscle building and can be hard on kidneys. Maybe look into a multivitamin gummy with added CoQ10 or turmeric for joint health. For your gym-rat friend, creatine gummies are fine, but check the dose—many don't have enough to be effective. I'd recommend a powder instead, but if they want gummies, go for a reputable brand.
Ugh, I wish I had time to research this stuff. Sleep-deprived parent here! My wife uses creatine gummies from NutraBio and loves 'em. Says they work well for her workouts. For your dad, maybe something like elderberry gummies for immune support? My dad is 70 and loves them. Just my 2 cents!
Paleo guy here. Creatine is one of the few supplements I actually recommend—it's well-researched. But gummies often have sugar alcohols or even sugar, which might not be great for your dad if he's watching carbs. I'd say get a creatine monohydrate powder for your friend (cheaper and more effective) and a good omega-3 gummy for your dad. My mom takes those and her joints feel better.
Thanks all! Good points. I think I'll go with a joint health gummy for my dad and maybe a creatine powder (not gummies) for my friend. Appreciate the help!
