Just saw this article about pro athletes coming out with creatine-infused protein bars and shakes. They're NSF certified too. What do you all think? Is this the future or just a fad?

I'm a bit worried about my grandkids seeing these and thinking they need them. Creatine is a supplement and not regulated like food. Even if it's NSF certified, it's still a drug-like substance. I'd rather they get their protein from real food.

I stick to my gummy vitamins, thank you very much. These bars and shakes are for hardcore athletes, not regular folks. If you're not training like a pro, you probably don't need extra creatine. Plus, it can cause bloating and cramping if you're not careful.

I'm skeptical. Just because they slap NSF certified on it doesn't mean it's safe for everyone. And creatine has been studied for years, but mostly in young men. What about older folks or women? I'd like to see more research before I give my kids anything like that.

Thanks for the input! I see both sides. Maybe it's best to stick to whole foods and basic supplements unless you're in a serious training program. I'll definitely talk to my coach before trying these.
