So I bought some creatine gummies for my husband because he's trying to get more into working out. I left the bottle on the counter and my 5-year-old found them. He ate like 4 before I noticed! They're fruit flavored and look exactly like candy. I freaked out but called poison control and they said it's probably fine, but still! Anyone else have this happen? Should I hide them better or just not buy them?

Oh honey, that's scary! I'm glad poison control said it's okay. With my grandkids, I keep ALL supplements in a locked cabinet. Kids are sneaky little things. But honestly, I've tried those gummies and they have a weird texture - chewy but kinda sticky. My grandkid refused to eat them after one bite because they got stuck in his teeth. Maybe your husband will like them, but I'd definitely hide them up high. And maybe get a child-proof bottle?

Lol classic. I've got a scoop of my kids eating my omega-3 gummies. But creatine? That's a high dose for a little one. Creatine is generally safe but can cause stomach upset and dehydration in high amounts. Make sure he drinks extra water. For storage, I use a lockbox for all my nootropics. Also, FYI, creatine gummies are way less effective than powder due to lower dosing and added sugars. But if your husband likes them, maybe get a tub of unflavored powder and mix it in his protein shake. Just a thought.

I avoid gummy supplements altogether for this exact reason. They're basically candy with a little bit of active ingredient. Plus all the gelatin and sugar is pointless. I stick to pure creatine monohydrate powder. But if you do buy gummies, keep them somewhere kids can't reach. Maybe a high shelf in the pantry. Or just tell your husband to finish them quickly before your kid finds 'em again 😄.
