My creatine gummies look weird – safe to eat?
Hey everyone, so I bought a jar of creatine gummies a few weeks ago. I opened them today and they're kind of hard, and there's some white stuff on them like sugar bloom. They also stuck together a bit. Are they still safe to eat? They're not expired or anything. TIA!
Honestly, I'd be careful. Texture changes can mean the ingredients are breaking down. Sugar bloom is just sugar, so that's fine, but if they're hard and sticking, the gummies might not be as effective. I've returned stuff like that before. Better safe than sorry? Maybe contact the company.
I've had this happen with regular gummy vitamins. Usually it's just moisture or temperature changes. They're probably safe, but they might not taste as good. If they were stored in a hot place, the creatine could degrade. I'd check for any weird smell. If they smell off, toss them.
Yeah, what Mike said. It's likely just from humidity or temp swings. The creatine itself is probably still okay, but the gummy texture can get weird. I've eaten gummies that got hard and they still worked for me. But if you're worried, you could always mix the powder into a shake instead of eating the gummies. Just a thought.
