THREAD: Saw this new study on creatine gummies - legit or just hype?Started by OP

Hey everyone, just came across this article summarizing a recent study (PMID: 12345678) about creatine supplementation in gummy form. The study claims creatine gummies have similar absorption to powder when taken with carbs, and they tested it on active adults. Link: healthnews.com/creatine-gummies-study-2024 What do you all think? Sounds promising but I'm always wary of supplement studies funded by companies. Anyone tried creatine gummies themselves?

Ugh, another 'miracle' gummy study. I looked up the PMID - the lead author has done previous research funded by a supplement brand. Not saying it's totally biased, but my mom-senses are tingling. My kids beg for gummy vitamins, but I stick to whole foods and the occasional proven powder. Has anyone checked if there's added sugar or artificial colors in these? That's my real concern.

Interesting! I haven't tried store-bought creatine gummies, but I've been DIY-ing my own for months. I mix creatine monohydrate powder into a homemade gelatin blend with a bit of honey and lemon juice. They set in silicone molds. Works great for my post-workout routine, and I know exactly what's in them. The study might be okay, but you can always test it yourself - cheaper and no corporate spin!

Cool find, OP! I'm all about optimizing with tech, so I dug deeper. The study used a double-blind protocol and published in a mid-tier journal. Not perfect, but decent. I've been using a creatine gummy brand that syncs with my fitness tracker app - it logs doses and suggests timing based on my sleep data. Absorption seems fine, but no crazy gains vs powder. Maybe 5% easier to stick to? The real bias might be in the app's upsell prompts, lol.

Thanks for the input, everyone! Ken, you're right to check for sugars - the article didn't mention that. Pat, love the DIY idea, might try that. Frank, the app integration sounds slick but yeah, upsells are annoying. Overall, seems like the study isn't total garbage, but I'll stay cautious. Maybe I'll grab a small pack to test. Anyone else have experience with these?
