THREAD: Are these creatine gummies actually worth the hype?Started by HealthHacker

Okay, I've been seeing these creatine gummies everywhere lately. My son's soccer team is all about them, but I'm skeptical. Isn't creatine something serious athletes use for muscle building? Why would it be in gummy form? And what about the sugar content? I'm worried these are just another overpriced supplement targeting parents who want their kids to perform better. Has anyone actually looked at the ingredients list? Are these safe for teenagers?

HealthHacker, I totally get your concern! As a granola parent, I prefer whole foods and natural supplements. My daughter's dance instructor mentioned these gummies, but I'm hesitant. We usually stick to plant-based proteins and homemade energy bites. That said, I did some research - some brands use vegan creatine (creatine monohydrate from fermented sources) and natural sweeteners. Has anyone found a clean brand without artificial colors or high fructose corn syrup? I'd consider it if it's truly clean and helps with her endurance during long rehearsals.

Hi everyone! I'm new to supplements - just started meditating and wanted to boost my focus during sessions. A friend suggested creatine gummies for cognitive benefits? I tried a sample pack last week. They taste like candy (maybe too sweet?), but I did notice slightly better concentration during my morning meditation. However, I got a mild stomach ache afterward. Is that normal? Also, how many should an adult take? The package says 2 gummies daily, but that seems like marketing. Would love advice from more experienced users!

LunarLily, stomach issues are common with creatine if you're not hydrated enough! Most studies show 3-5g daily for adults, but gummies might have less per serving. Check the label - some only have 1-2g per serving, which might explain the candy-like taste (more filler, less creatine). YogaYara, I looked at three popular brands: all have added sugars (3-5g per serving) and artificial flavors. One even uses gelatin, so not vegan. My verdict so far: these seem like a gimmick. Why not just mix creatine powder in a smoothie? Cheaper and you control the ingredients.

Thanks for the research, HealthHacker! You confirmed my suspicions. LunarLily, for focus during meditation, have you tried lion's mane mushroom supplements? They're natural and great for cognition. Back to creatine - my husband (a cyclist) uses pure creatine monohydrate powder mixed in water. It's flavorless and costs pennies per serving. Maybe we should steer our kids toward real food alternatives? Like beet juice for endurance or chia seeds for sustained energy. But I'm curious - has anyone's child actually benefited from these gummies? Real experiences welcome!

Great advice, both! I'll check out lion's mane and maybe try creatine powder instead. The gummies were convenient, but not worth the stomach issues. YogaYara, my nephew (15, swimmer) uses them and swears they help with recovery after practice. His mom says he's less fatigued, but she also makes him eat balanced meals. Maybe it's a combination? Still, I agree with HealthHacker - the sugar is concerning. Maybe occasional use for intense training days? Thanks for the insights! This forum is so helpful for us newbies.
