Are we just eating fancy candy?

I'm new to the supplement game and honestly, I'm a bit concerned. I see everyone talking about these gummy vitamins like they're some kind of treat. But when I read the label, the sugar content is like 3-4 grams per gummy, and for elderberry, it's even more. We're basically eating candy and calling it health. Am I missing something?

You're not missing anything, Frank. The 'candy-fication' is real. I switched to sugar-free pills because I didn't want to load up on empty calories. I get why gummies are popular - convenience and taste - but if you're taking them daily, that sugar adds up. I'd rather take my supplements and get my sweetness from a piece of fruit.

I get the concern, but for me, gummies are the only reason I remember to take anything. I'm a student and I'm always on the go. A quick gummy in the morning is all I can do. Plus, if it tastes like candy, I'll actually take it every day. Maybe I'm not pure, but my immune system is thanking me during finals week.

Oscar, I get the convenience thing, but what about sugar-free options? They make those too, right? I'm wondering if the benefits outweigh the downsides. With elderberry, the studies I've seen show it can work, but do we need all that sugar? Might just be a placebo effect with the gummies.

Frank, you're right. There are sugar-free gummies, but honestly, they can have sugar alcohols that mess with my stomach. So it's a trade-off. I just prefer to control my intake. But hey, Oscar, if it works for you and you don't have blood sugar issues, more power to you. Just don't forget to brush your teeth after!
