Hey everyone, I've been taking elderberry gummies for immune support, but I'm wondering if it's okay to take them with my morning coffee? I usually have a cup right after breakfast and was thinking of popping a gummy then too. Any experiences or advice? Thanks!

Ooh, interesting combo! I tried elderberry gummies with coffee once - the tart berry flavor actually kinda works with the bitterness? But I'm not sure about the health side. I'd say if it tastes good, go for it! Maybe try a small piece first to see if you like the mix. Personally, I prefer them with yogurt for a smoother taste.

From a biochemical perspective, there's limited research on elderberry-caffeine interactions. Elderberry (Sambucus nigra) contains flavonoids and anthocyanins, while coffee has caffeine and polyphenols. No major contraindications in literature, but absorption might be affected by caffeine's diuretic effect. Recommend spacing them 30 mins apart for optimal efficacy. Always check with your doctor if you have underlying conditions.

As a mom, I'm always cautious about mixing supplements. My kids take elderberry gummies, but I'd never give them with coffee (obviously lol). For adults, it might be fine, but why risk it? Just take the gummy with water or a healthy snack. Coffee has enough going on already with its acidity and caffeine jitters. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks for the input everyone! BerryBen, I'll try the taste test. HealthHacker840, good point about spacing them out. KaleKen735, you're right about being cautious. Maybe I'll stick to taking them separately for now and see how it goes. Appreciate the help!
