Elderberry for sleep? Anyone else notice better skin?
So I started taking elderberry gummies a few weeks ago, mainly to help my kid sleep better (saw some random blog about it). Honestly, I didn't notice much change in his sleep, BUT my own skin has been looking amazing! Less redness and breakouts. Is this a known thing? Or just coincidence?
Not a coincidence at all! Elderberry is packed with antioxidants and anthocyanins that fight inflammation. When you reduce internal inflammation, it often shows on your skin first. I've seen the same effect with my clients. Plus, it supports immune function, so maybe your body is just happier overall. Keep at it!
There's some science behind it. Elderberry has been shown to reduce oxidative stress and modulate inflammatory cytokines. That can definitely improve skin health. However, the sleep benefit is less supported—maybe look at melatonin or magnesium for that. Glad you found a positive side effect though!
Thanks guys! Good to know it's not just in my head. @PurePete762, do you recommend a certain brand? I'm just using the store brand from Whole Foods. @KaleKen268, yeah I might try a separate sleep supplement, but for now I'll keep taking these for the skin bonus lol.
