THREAD: Elderberry gummies - healthy supplement or just candy in disguise?Started by NootropicNoah

Okay, I tried these new elderberry gummies for immune support, but the ingredient list reads like a candy bar! 12g of sugar per serving? Seriously? I'm all for convenience - I do Crossfit 5x a week and need quick options - but this feels like we're just candy-fying supplements. Anyone else think this defeats the purpose?

Totally agree, Noah! As a parent trying to keep my kids healthy, I see this everywhere. The 'gummy-ification' of everything worries me. My rule: if it tastes like candy, it probably has junk in it. I stick to pure elderberry syrup or capsules - no added sugars, just the real stuff. Convenience shouldn't mean compromising purity for our families!

Whoa, hold up! I get the sugar concern, but let's be real - if it doesn't taste good, people won't take it consistently. I've tried every elderberry form out there, and the gummies are the only ones I actually remember to take daily. Yeah, they have some sugar, but isn't some immune support better than none? Plus, the berry flavors are actually delicious!

Ben, I hear you on compliance, but as someone tracking every macro for performance, that sugar adds up fast. There ARE sugar-free options with stevia or monk fruit. And Yara - capsules are great until you're rushing to the box after a workout and just want something quick. Maybe we need better mid-ground options? Like low-sugar gummies that don't taste like medicine?

Noah's onto something! Why can't companies make gummies with minimal, natural sweeteners? My kids would still eat them if they were lightly sweetened with fruit juice instead of loaded with sugar alcohols or straight sugar. The supplement industry needs to do better - we want convenience AND clean ingredients! Anyone found a brand that actually balances this well?
