Hey folks, just saw this study on elderberry and colds. It says it might reduce duration. But you know how these supplement studies go, sometimes funded by the makers. What do you think? Legit or just marketing? Here's the link: [PMID 12345678]

Elderberry is legit! I've been taking it for years and I swear by it. I haven't had a cold that lasted more than a couple days. The science is there, but you gotta get a good brand, not the cheap stuff. Also check for standardized extracts. The study you linked sounds solid, but always look at who funded it. A lot of times it's independent.

I'm skeptical. I tried elderberry once and didn't notice anything. But I also was drinking like 4 cups of coffee a day and not sleeping well. Placebo effect maybe? The study might be legit, but I think diet and lifestyle matter more. Also, I've heard that raw elderberries are toxic if not cooked, so maybe some products are not processed correctly.

As a busy professional, I need stuff that works. I've been taking elderberry gummies during flu season. Even if it's just a small effect, I'll take it. I read that study too, and it seemed well-designed with a decent sample size. But I'm also taking vitamin C and zinc. Can't hurt, right?

Thanks for the input everyone. I might try it for my grandkids. They keep bringing germs home from school. GummyGuru, which brand do you recommend? I want something safe and effective. Also, does anyone know if it interacts with blood pressure meds? I take those.
